Nigeria

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

This group is a Not-for-Profit IT support group that would enable free flow of support and exchange of ideas in the Nigerian Open Source community. This we hope will help those of us that have benefited so much from the community to give back to the community that has helped our work so much. Events shall be organised from time to time by the group. The goal of this group is to foster the local community, provide local support and to allow the local Drupal industry to grow.

The three core roles of Drupal Nigeria User Group will be

• Education
• Support
• Socializing

This group is restricted to Nigerians or Drupal users (or interested users) in Nigeria.

DrupalCamp Lagos (November) 2011

Hi all ,

We are looking at running a small DrupalCamp in November this year. It will help bring industry players and users together... We will focus on discussions and how to generally build a stronger local community moving forward.

One of the key tasks obviously is to find sponsorship for the event to fund Venue, Publicity, and so on. We also need to work on the website... I will update with a full task list as soon as we establish enough interest...

Please lets hear your thoughts...

Events 2011

Hello Drupeeps!!!

If we intend to have an amazing events this year, I think its about time we started planning. The events for this year as planned by the Open Source Foundation, Nigeria would include Drupal Camp and LinuxFest. I'm presently in talks with the Vice Chancellor of the Osun State University about the same events on their campus otherwise if you have a different opinion we can work with. I think we should have the events in about two to three locations around Nigeria this year.

Let's get to work

Your opinions are welcome

Drupal7 release party in the air

Drupal7 final release is just around the corner. I believe most of you guys are aware. So, with the aim of continuing the culture, various communities around the world are organizing release parties.

Check out:

* http://www.drupal7releaseparty.org/
* http://groups.drupal.org/node/113244

Any suggestions as to where we can have this? Can we do this at any of the eatries? Just gist about D7 updates actually - I haven't dig in myself.

Just to let us all know that, this is a very unofficial meetup. No projectors, no teachings. Just D7 talks.

Your suggestions are welcomed.

ScoopAfrica.com

ScoopAfrica.com is a new website I developed with Drupal. It is a business networking website for professionals and small-business owners across Africa. Individuals can create comprehensive professional profiles that would help in locating the right employer and their desired jobs, while companies can create complete company profiles that serves as a cost-effective advertising tool.

The original idea was from my partner, which we both run Scoop Internet Services in Lagos. He handles the marketing while I do the development.
