Seeking a casual Web/PHP developer, preferably with Drupal experience but will train the right person, XHTML/CSS, JS, SQL.
Ideal for someone still studying towards an IT degree or undertaking postgraduate studies.


Location - Central Queensland - Bundaberg - Moore Park Beach
Work with a small boutique Drupal development firm on local and international projects of varying sizes.
Immediate start - flexible hours to suit work/family/study balance.

Rowlands Group is a specialist Drupal and RIA development firm producing full-service Drupal based websites as well as Drupal theming, custom Drupal development and Drupal consulting services.

We have a wide range of local and international clients and provide quality, value-for-money specialist Drupal contracting services to other Drupal shops as well as working directly with clients. We are responsible for maintaining a number of contributed modules and are an active member of the Drupal community.

The Job

Rowlands Group is seeking a casual web developer to join our team to help meet the growing demand for our services.


*Participate in a range of website development and maintenance activities.
*Design and build Drupal sites.
*Evaluate, select and configure appropriate contributed modules to meet client needs.
*Translate design composites into Drupal themes.
*Code custom Drupal modules.

Primary Criteria

*Programming experience using PHP (will consider those with experience in C, Python, looking to match the switch)
*Experience in efficiently creating standards-compliant XHTML and CSS to translate a design into reality, including an understanding of the border-box model and familiarity with browser quirks.
*Strong oral and written communication skills.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
*Quick to learn.
*Genuinely motivated.

Desirable Qualities

*Experience configuring and deploying Drupal
*Experience theming Drupal
*Experience writing custom Drupal modules.
*Experience with jQuery, jQuery.UI, Sencha EXT JS, Sencha Touch
*Experience with SQL and relational databases
*Familiarity with version control (Subversion/GIT)
*Familiarity a Linux Server environment
*Bash programming skills
*Bachelor of Information Technology (or similar) or significant progress towards
