Want to meet other local Drupal users and use your Drupal skills to help a worthy cause? Please join us for Drupal Outreach Code Sprint Hawaii!

What: One-day code sprint to build free Drupal websites for various non-profit organizations in Hawaii.
Who: Anyone with Drupal experience.
When: Saturday, August 27th, 2009 9am - 4pm (with a break for lunch)
Where: ING Direct Cafe Waikiki, 1958 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu, HI 96815 (see map)
Why: To donate our time and skills to a great cause...while meeting awesome Drupal folks!

Participation in this event is of course free, but please sign up so that we may get an accurate head count.

Tentative Schedule:
09:00 - 09:30 Welcome and Introductions
09:30 - 10:00 Non-profit's representative explains site requirements
10:00 - 10:30 Define site features and functionality
10:30 - 12:00 Breakout into groups and begin implementing features and themes
12:00 - 01:00 Lunch (on your own)
01:00 - 03:00 Continue implementing features and theme
03:00 - 03:45 Training on how to use/maintain the site
03:45 - 04:00 Wrap up

Participants should bring their own laptop, an extension cord, and if possible, their own Internet connection (we may have to share connections). If you are unable to bring your own laptop, there will be opportunities to partner up with others.

Our first confirmed non-profit is Hawaii Prison News (HPN). HPN provides a voice for Hawaii's incarcerated population. Their newsletter -- which includes articles submitted by inmates -- covers topics relating to Hawaii's prison system and prison reform.
