Online meeting (eg. IRC meeting)

Google employee Becky "technicka" Gessler is running a series of usability studies on Drupal this week. http://groups.drupal.org/node/204868 has all of the details; here are the highlights:

  • There will be two sets of usability tests run: one on Feb 1 using "stock" Drupal 7 and one on Feb 3 using the Drupal 7 media dev install profile (which already includes and pre-configures WYSIWYG, Media, Views, and several other modules) so that we can compare/contrast the results.

  • The tests will not only cover ground by previous usability tests (creating content, basic administration, modules), but also attempt to get into more advanced functionality such as Field UI and Views.

  • The tests will be live-streamed so we can all watch people bash their faces into tables together. (And hopefully patch issues as fast as we find 'em! :))

  • Participants are Google employees (non-engineers) with no Drupal experience who genuinely want to create a simple website, so have motivation to learn Drupal.

It should be highly fun, insightful, and educational. :) Join us in the Google+ hangout and in #drupal-usability on IRC for the peanut gallery!
