In this session Ralph Janke will introduce two very interesting technologies for websites.
Openstreetmap is a volunteer driven movement to make cartographic information public domain. Ralph will cover the community as well as technological aspects of Openstreetmap and how standard and customized map can be used on Drupal sites without legal headaches.
OpenLayers is a javascript library that allows the display of rendered map tiles (or other images) on websites. It also allows additional information to be displayed on websites.
Finally, Ralph will show the flexibility of OpenLayers by presenting a project he has done using it for something other than maps.
