Hello everybody,

I am a novice Drupal user. I actually started out in Drupal 6 and the book "Using Drupal". Installed a Marinelli theme and was testing a while. But testing while traveling constantly is not a very good option.

Now I am in a situation where I am able to sit with decent internet connection for a few months and set up an environment in Drupal 7 with NodeStream. This setup appeals to me! I like what you guys did with NodeSteam.

I want to setup a Responsive website, so I downloaded the PageManagers video's from NodeOne and want to install the Lucid theme to work on that.

I have installed various NodeStream profile installs and always lost my few articles, which I recreated again. Now there is a new install again.

My question to you all is this, is it possible to keep the database, or somehow backup the database or any other system whereby I can apply the new profile install and keep my entries? I am sure there are several ways to go about it. What is your proven system?

Adventurous greetings,
Coen

NodeStream supports upgrades

NodeStream supports upgrades between versions without reinstalling, so you can just keep your database and only upgrade the files by replacing the files you have with the new version of NodeStream when it arrives. Just keep your database between upgrades and you can keep on developing on it.

At NodeOne we use installation profiles to develop our websites, but that's a more advanced topic and I recommend you get started developing a bit before trying that out, but we shared our setup in an example project sandbox, and an example installation profile sandbox.

Thanks Fabian,

I just downloaded the Alpha11 tar file and only replaced the nodestream folder inside the profile folden. I don't know if I should be doing just that, but it worked.

It stopped working!

Now I replaced the folder like I stated above, and it worked. I just installed the Module Filter module and I get this message:

Additional uncaught exception thrown while handling exception.

What would that be?
