We had a great meetup this past week! Let continue to build off that momentum with our next meetup scheduled July 11th @ Infosys International.
Below is a rough schedule of the meetup format. Our goal is to attract Drupal users on all levels of the system:
7:00-7:30pm - Introductions, arrivals, and networking
7:30-8:00pm - hook_future_alter() - A look at what is coming in Drupal 8 and how it will impact end users, site builders, designers, and developers, and how to jump in and help!
8:00-8:30pm - Pizza, Q/A, and discussion
8:30-9:00pm - Lightning Rounds on Drupal modules.
Being that we did not have time for all the lightning rounds at our last meetup I can do a round on the Display Suite module. If anyone else has a topic/module they would like to present lets discuss it here.
Over the next month lets get the word out as best we can to promote this event. Attached is a flyer that @MMarz9 designed which we can be use to post to any physical message board we have access to... yes they still exist... :)
Location Address:
Infosys International Inc.

That would be great Stew! I think that will follow up nicely to our last "Hello Drupal" talk. It's a must have piece of knowledge beginning Drupalists need to acquire!
Thank you
Nick

Really enjoyed the meetup
Really enjoyed the meetup last night. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next one.
If anyone has any topics they would like to see at the next meetup or if they would be interested in speaking on a topic let try and collaborate early so we can get a nice schedule planned for the next meetup.
Lets keep this group growing!!
I think we should definitely
I think we should definitely try the splitting up into groups idea. We can split up into beginner, intermediate, and expert groups and have a class that is based off of the group's skill level.
Some ideas to talk about in individual groups or as a whole could be:
Best practices to starting up your own drupal shop.
Git best practices when working with many or a small number of developers on a project
Themeing
Responsive themeing
Working with popular drupal APIs
Drupal 8
Favorite module that no one knows about.
These are just some ideas off the top of my head.
Or maybe we could start our
Or maybe we could start our own collaborative drupal website/module that all drupal li members can contribute to. I don't know, just another thinking out loud idea.
I had a great time at the
I had a great time at the meetup!! I can't wait for the next one! I will have a new event posted in within the next week. We can further discuss our next agenda there.
Pat, I think all of your ideas are solid and I hope to be able to cover all of them over the next few++ meetups. Alot is happening within the D8 initiatives and I really would like to look at some of those happenings.
Also, as I expressed, I'd love to see someone that has knowledge in library/information science do a introduction talk on building taxonomies and such.
Thanks.
