The Seattle Drupal Users Group will present a free "Drupal Clinic" workshop on Friday, October 2, 2009, from 10 AM to 5 PM. This hands-on workshop is an introduction to building a web site using the free, open-source content management system Drupal. We will cover questions like "What can Drupal do?", "Why choose Drupal?", and general concepts of on-line content management with a database behind your web site. Then we'll work through the basics of setting up a Drupal site. There will also be time at the end of the day when experienced Drupal volunteers will be available to help you one-on-one with your specific Drupal questions, or to work with you more on what was covered in the workshop.

This free workshop will include coffee in the morning and lunch with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options (provided by our sponsors), but please bring your own lunch if you have special dietary restrictions (no wheat, no dairy, etc.).

Each attendee should bring a laptop with WiFi capability. A personal "sandbox" web space will be provided for each attendee during the workshop, so everyone can give Drupal a test run.

  • To sign up to attend, go to http://seattledrupalclinic.eventbrite.com/
  • We also could use a few people to be there all day, and as many people as possible who can come from 3pm to 5pm to be the "experienced Drupal volunteers" described above. We'll be covering the basics of Drupal (configuration, taxonomy, CCK, and views), so you don't have to be the world's most expert Drupalist to be of great help. To sign up as a volunteer, go to http://seattledrupalclinic.eventbrite.com/
