LIGHTNING ROUNDS
New feature. Have a topic you can present in 5 minutes (with 5 more minutes for questions)? The basic idea is there are patterns for developing sites the "drupal" way ("what would drupal do? etc."). Tell us a quick 5 minute recipe for how to put the Drupal "bricks" together. Theming techniques or other things may also be appropriate. Propose it below. Make sure you mention it is for the "lightning round" otherwise it might get confused with a longer presentation.- Drupal 7.21 Hotfix! ~ TBD

Meetup.com is pitching this for March 6th
I was surprised to get an email from Meetup.com announcing this meetup on March 6th (see http://www.meetup.com/drupalnyc/events/101013862/). I posted a note there about the date change.
I got an email and was like

There is no signup page, it opens to null. This has previously occurred. There has got to be a better way to do this??? Having to jump from meetup page to this site and then no easy access to sign up.
As well, the confirmation list should be sent out with the actual names on it, the last time I received a generic confirmation, with no info whether my name was on the list.

32 people are signed up so far (last month we had 100 actual signups, ie, on this page so they are automatically added to the building security list.)
No one else is reporting difficulty, however if you provide a little more info we should be able to get you hooked up.

commerce with drupal made easy
I plan on doing a presentation on using the commerce module to setup a storefront and I have several ideas but wish to get some feedback as to what presentation people would like, so i will give you a choice.
I would walk through the steps to set any of these implementation up and provide a downloaded ready to go store for users to download and test drive after the session is over.
