Next Meeting?

Hey all,

New to Portland, and relatively new to Drupal. I think I've reached the point in my project/drupal learning curve where I either need to hire somebody to help, or get some guidance on how to proceed. Seems like the Drupal meet-up would be a perfect place for either one of these tasks. Are the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Wednesday meetings still active?

Also, never really been to anything like this. Any thoughts on what to expect?

PNWDS WYSIWYG BoF

We at Agentic are interested in getting a snapshot of what folks are doing for WYSIWYG editor choices and configurations. We'll be submitting a Birds of a Feather session at the summit, which will apparently be via a whiteboard in hall. If you're interested in sharing ideas and seeing what other folks have done, please check for the session and join us. We'll try to document the results for the broader community.

Acquia is opening a Portland office, and to celebrate, we're doing an officewarming in our brand new office in the Leftbank building on Portland's East Side.
We're grabbing a keg, a DJ and raffling off an iPad to those who attend, so come on down!

Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit folks are particularly welcome, our office is at the convergence of the Red, Blue, Yellow and Green lines at the Rose Quarter.

We're also a pretty neat place to work, and we're hiring for Portland positions as well.

October User Group Meeting

Start:
2011-10-12 18:00 America/Vancouver
Event type:
User group meeting

Hi all,
I've created this event on seeing that there is no listing for it as yet. Is it cancelled because of the Summit this weekend? I can easily understand that that might be the case, since the same crew that organizes the meetings is no doubt swamped with putting the Summit together (I'm so glad I got a ticket in time!).

Any CRM Pushers at PNW Drupal Summit?

Are any of you CRM gurus attending the Oct 14 PNW Summit meeting? I'm surprised to not see any proposed sessions related to CRM development/integration.

I'm involved in CRM integration for churches/nonprofits, initially using CiviCRM but want to hear from the voice of experience and see a comparison of strengths/weaknesses of the upcoming solutions (Red Hen, dropCRM, churches CRM, etc) vs established ones like CiviCRM. As a newcomer to the CRM discussion, I'm looking for a bird's eye view of what's happening.

Any chance of a meetup in Portland? Will CiviCRM have a presence?

limited sponsorships available for the Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit

With the summit a few weeks away I'm pleased to say that nearly all of the sponsorships are taken. We do have one or two bronze and a handful of community sponsorships remaining, but they're going fast. As you all know, all money collected goes directly to event costs or to the next summit, and we're 100% volunteer run.

Please send me an email at brian@opensourcery.com if you'd like to snap up the last of the limited sponsorship opportunities available, show your support for this outstanding great community event, and demonstrate your leadership in our regional Drupal community.

Help Migrating Small Site to Acquia Commons

I have a small community website not currently based on Drupal, and am interested in migrating it to Acquia Commons. The data is available as a database export. I can do enough scripting to get the data into whatever format it needs to be in for import purposes, but I don't really know Drupal internals. I want to import the 400 users, their 700 blog posts, and their 840 threaded comments, making sure to preserve the threads.
