Need a change? Want an Adventure?

Captovate is the Northern Territory’s biggest and (we reckon) awesomest web and digital media agency, and we’re searching far and wide for savvy and creative Drupal Developers to join our Darwin team.

The job is full time, you’ll be living in beautiful Darwin, you can start immediately and the pay is great! ($60k to $80k package commensurate with experience and skills). You can find out more about the company, the team and the projects at www.captovate.com.au or stalk us a little on www.facebook.com/captovate

In a nutshell, we do all kinds of digital media and communications for both private enterprise and government, ranging from (of course) awesome websites, through to mobile apps, intranets, social media and more. We work primarily with Drupal for our web and mobile developments, and all our sites are fully responsive and search engine optimised.

We pride ourselves in offering the full experience under one roof, beginning with UX design and IA, through to creative design, development and maintenance. As an award-winning, boundary pushing, fun to work with agency, we’re always growing...

This is where YOU come in…

We need two amazing, creative, flexible, dynamic, experienced and all-round-good web developers to join our ranks. You’ll be doing all kinds of interesting work for a broad range of clients, including:

Planning, building, and maintaining dynamic websites, web-based applications and mobile responsive sites and apps
Developing interactivity to extend the functionality of websites and apps
Collaborating with project managers, information architects, designers and other team members, as well as with clients, to achieve the best possible solutions and to build creative new ideas
Ensuring full site usability, accessibility and browser compatibility in line with W3C, Australian and NT Government (where applicable) web standards
Exploring innovative technologies and methods to provide the best possible outcome for the client (and the coolest, funnest projects to work on!)
Using independent initiative to ensure the tasks are completed, on time, within budget and within client expectations
Providing professional advice and support to the project manager, other team members and clients
Undertaking any other duties as requested by the manager
Captovate is firmly positioned as industry leaders and innovators, so we’ll be looking to our dev team to seek out, stumble upon or dream up cool functionality and creative ideas that keep us ahead of the game.

We offer an exciting, unique career opportunity, perfect for flexing your dev muscles and proving your guru-status within a small team with some very big clients including the NT’s largest bank, the Airports and the NT Government, as well as some of the Territory’s highest ranking sites and apps. We tend to value attitude and work ethic over straight qualifications, but we are looking for someone who is experienced, confident and competent working autonomously and flexibly in our lively (and totally cool) workspace - we have a custom built bar and a ping pong arena!

Ideally, your mad skills will include:

Drupal Development
Ninja level HTML/CSS, JavaScript and PHP
Responsive design and development
An in-depth understanding of best practice web development
Knowhow to work all those layers in Photoshop
Confidence to learn new technologies and problem solve to achieve required outcomes
Confidence to communicate with a variety of people at various levels
Demonstrated ability of working in a dynamic environment, within a small team where the expectation is to show initiative and independence but still be able to pull together as a team to get the job done right and on time.
You need to be legally allowed to work in Australia, so if you’re travelling, that means a temporary work visa, and ideally be interested in Sponsorship to stay for two years or more.

Have yourself a seachange and a treechange in the tropical top end paradise that is Darwin, a vibrant coastal city with a young and dynamic population and world heritage natural wonders at your doorstep, not to mention the famous dry season weather. Our close-knit team is made up of a mix of born-and-raised locals and intrepid adventurers from all over the world, so whether you want a buddy to explore with, or someone to show you what it’s all about, we’ll help you settle in and feel right at home in Darwin (although perhaps a little warmer!).
