The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking applications for the position of Drupal Developer. CCAD’s campus is a vital and growing “urban learning village” of 1,300 students located in downtown Columbus, a smart, open, and growing city with a metro-area population of 1.4 million. Offering BFA and MFA degrees, the College, as a matter of values and practice, focuses on the development of applied creative thinkers.

The Drupal Developer, reporting to the Associate Vice President for Marketing & Communications, is responsible for managing and maintaining the CCAD.edu website, which is being rebuilt using the Drupal CMS. The Drupal Developer will be working on projects ranging from advertising, to social media widgets, campaign pages, e-commerce development (Ubercart) and other projects as they are identified.

This position offers a developer the opportunity to learn and grow their skills while working in an extremely creative, visual organization. You will be part of a collaborative marketing team, yet have significant autonomy in a smart, higher education community. The position is full-time and includes the full set of CCAD health and education benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Expertise with Drupal CMS including a solid understanding of the Drupal core, available modules, and best
    practices for module development.
  • Skilled with MySQL and writing complex SQL queries.
  • Ability to create new Drupal modules and modify existing modules
  • Experience with monitoring tools, scripting, and internet security best practices
  • Have a working knowledge of web, database, and operating system server configuration in Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP stack environments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, project management and attention to detail are required.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for module development and site theming
  • Must have 4-6 years of web development experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience building website using Drupal
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Creativity is a must.

Candidates must have exceptional experience hand-coding with PHP, Drupal, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Experience with Ubercart or CashNet is a plus. Must have 4-6+ years’ experience of web development; Previous work experience in a higher education environment would be a beneficial distinction.
