Position: Senior Software Developer (Drupal)
Term: Permanent

Job Summary:
The senior software developer will have primary responsibility for researching, designing, developing, implementing, tracking, maintaining, and updating internal and external facing functionality and all other software development projects, working independently and as a member of the Technology & Delivery team. The senior software developer is also responsible for reviewing all templates, applications, and tools for conformity with house and company style, standards, and formatting. This person will also organize incoming development projects and prioritize project elements with the Software Development Manager and the Vice President of Technology & Delivery, as well as our internal and external customers, in such a way that deadlines are met and the web functionality, applications, and tools delivered are the best quality possible.

● Design, develop, and maintain Drupal PHP modules, HTML pages, various applications, and tools in a Drupal content management system (CMS)–based web site environment.
● Design, develop, and maintain database structures for reporting, applications, tools, and the web site CMS.
● Provide project management, prioritizing of work, and multitasking for all projects, completing all necessary documentation for project tracking and customer updates for the full product life cycle.
● Work with vendors as well as internal and external clients to identify and solve problems to meet business, customer, and technology needs.
● Work with manager to develop and document department standards and processes.
● Remain current on web standards, development standards, and changing trends, including but not limited to development methodologies, project management processes, new tags, browser specifications, scripting/coding languages, utilities, and programs.
● Ensure that web sites and tools are accessible from a variety of different environments.
● Troubleshoot and repair bugs and problems.
● Perform effectively as an individual and as a cooperative and effective member of a team serving multiple internal and external clients.
● Train software developers and other staff on existing and new web processes.
● Mentor software developers in new product design, development, execution, documentation, tracking, and maintenance.
● Research solutions to improve the web site, online tools, and web deliverables.
● Perform other production, design, and development tasks as requested by manager.
● Show consistent attention to detail and meet required deadlines.
● Perform other tasks as requested by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
● College graduate (BA, BS, or higher-level degree, preferably in IT or Computer Sciences) or equivalent experience.
● At least 4 years of relevant experience in web development and/or software development.
● Extensive knowledge of available development methodologies (DSDM, Agile, Scrum).
● Extensive knowledge of and ability to utilize Windows and Linux operating systems.
● Knowledge of and ability to edit Apache and general LAMP configurations. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and other SAAS solutions a plus.
● Knowledge of and ability to edit and utilize relational databases (MySQL) and query interfaces (SQL).
● Extensive knowledge of and ability to edit and use current web markup, scripting, and programming languages: HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, JQuery, JavaScript, XML, and XSLT. Familiarity with Java a plus.
● Knowledge of Content Management systems and methodologies, taxonomies & metadata utilization, and search best practices. Familiarity with Drupal a must. Familiarity with Alfresco a plus. Familiarity with Adobe Connect Pro a plus.
● Extensive knowledge of Project Management systems and methodologies. Familiarity with VersionOne a plus.
● Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems and methodologies. Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
● Demonstrated proficiency in at least one structured programming language.
● Understanding of good software architecture practices.
● Understanding of software version control systems and branched development environments. Familiarity with SubVersion a plus.
● Familiarity with and ability to use existing as well as new applications as needed.
● Ability to learn new Internet and authoring technologies relevant for web site development.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work professionally with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
● Ability to scope, plan, and document development projects a must.
● Prior project management and customer service experience a plus.
● Prior team-lead and supervisory experience a plus.
● Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
● Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
