Drewish has a reverse bounty going to add the ability to use external files with the audio module. This will allow you to have a remote store of MP3 or other audio files, and easily include them in your Drupal site, including in a Flash audio player, using the audio module.

Awesome
Strong work, Patrick and Rhino.
Should be amazing!
Seems like this is going to open up loads of possibilities - could probably build our own Hype Machine!?! Thanks Boris and Pat for stepping up!

The Audio module is one of my favorites, and I can think of a few ways this feature could be very useful.
Furthermore, this seems like a really effective way to raise money..

I'm happy to see productive fundraising as well...
...via this group I created.
But with only 68 subscribers, I'm hoping more developers will realize the benefits of letting the public know about modules that could use a helping hand via financial support.

Progress?
Hello,
I hate to be one of those nagging people, but has anyone seen progress with this lately?
The project I'm currently working on requires external mp3's to work cleanly with the audio module. Our deadline is closing in and we're not keen to fork the audio module code, unless really desperate.
I've recently tried to contact drewish but haven't heard anything back.
Does anyone know if this bounty is still on the rails?
PS: My team is more than willing to help with this! Just hit up my contact page :-)
Thanks!
