Will there be a DrupalCamp Montreal this year? Or is it all in DC North now?

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Yes. DrupalCamp Montréal is 12 Sept 2015 at McGill.

The "Drupal North" regional summit is expected to be an additional event and we are still planning a local camp. Toronto may skip doing their camp this year but they are still thinking to do a smaller camp as a one-day event (rather than 2-3 days as they have done in the past).

Montréal DrupalCamp will be September 12, 2015 at McGill Music building. We are planning a keynote/open-source discussion on Friday night (11 Sept) as we have done the previous two years.

One new thing we are going to try is a week-long sprint following the event to invite people from around North America to stop in Montréal en route to Barcelona. We are looking for spaces to host the travellers during office hours. So if you have a space (and especially if you are looking to hire remote workers) let us know.

Officially the sprint may be Monday to Friday, as Sunday is often hard to coordinate after the camp party. Open to suggestions and we welcome volunteers.

Closer to Drupal North we will try to coordinate some car sharing options and/or a "Drupal train" on ViaRail for those who are interested.

Drupal North is a FREE event for attendees. You can register now.

Drupal North wants to have francophone sessions... so this is something to consider if you wish to propose multiple talks for that event.

Amazing, thanks!

Hey Guillaume! I just happened to see your message now.

Ryan nailed it, but I wanted to add that Toronto isn't doing a camp this year because we're hosting the 1st edition of Drupal North.

The plan is for Montreal to host next year's Drupal North, then Ottawa will host in 2017.

Toronto's plans for future camps are somewhat up in the air. We're considering hosting 2 or 3 smaller events throughout the year and just helping with Drupal North in 2016 and 2017 as the major regional event.

Personally speaking, this will likely be my last major effort as a "lead" event organizer of any kind. We have a solid 12-person committee working on Drupal North and I'm looking forward to a purely support role in 2016 and 2017...and beyond. :)
