Sprint

During the first few days of Drupal Dev Days Montpellier 2015 workshops will be offered to introduce Drupalistas to Drupal core contribution. In three workshops, repeated on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, experienced contributors will help with setting up development tools, such as Git, web stacks, IRC clients and Dreditor, and with finding and working on issues on drupal.org.
These workshops can be attended free of charge, without reservation.

Available workshops

Dev tools

Attendees will receive help setting up the following tools that are useful for Drupal development:

  • Git
  • Web/AMP stack (Apache, PHP, MySQL)
  • PHP IDE (PhpStorm)
  • IRC client
  • Drush
  • Dreditor

If not all of these software packages are installed on your laptop during the Dev Days, we recommend you visit this workshop, even if it is just for ten minutes. Our mentors have extensive experience in getting the software to work on a variety of computers.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 09:00-10:30
The Wednesday mentoring activities have been cancelled. If you are new, please just join the other sprinters and ask for mentoring information.

First-time sprinter workshop

Experienced contributors will introduce the drupal.org issue queue, coding standards, and how to work on issues. Attendees will learn how to find interesting issues that they can work on, and how to write and review patches.

Mentoring sprint

This is where the real work happens. Under guidance from experienced contributors, attendees will find real Drupal 8 issues to work on. Depending on interests, attendees will write code that will end up in Drupal core, review each other's patches, and improve documentation, among many other things.
If you have never worked on issues before, we recommend you attend this workshop.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 14:00-17:30

Mentors

We are looking for mentors! Have you worked on issues before? Do you know what Dreditor is and when to set an issue to RTBC?
Please sign up to be a mentor during one of the workshops.
