To meet other Drupal beginners, Newbies, and more experienced Drupalistas. The idea is to form a group which will continue to meet, helping each other actually get a website going and go live with it. Personally, I wish to find others locally whom I can call on to help me with an issue when I can't find the answer in the books or online, or plain don't "get it"; I feel I have also something to contribute and can help those who are very new to Drupal.
Modules, and how to find the right one for your needs, is to me a huge topic. I need to learn about access levels, and to figure out the various modules I have found so far, is a daunting task. That's where sharing experiences can be so helpful and I see a group like this coming into its own.
We will meet at my home which is in downtown Santa Barbara and I will provide the address prior to the meeting.

Drupal meeting 24 Sept in Santa Barbara
Six of us met at my home in Santa Barbara and got to know each other. Marcus is the experienced Drupal person, three of us are building Drupal sites at the moment, and three complete newbies. We had fun, and marvelled at how much Linda has already accomplished completely on her own!
I am hosting the next meeting 28 September, and want to make it a "bring your issue" and let's solve it type meeting. Also, if anyone needs help in installing Drupal locally, or online, we will help you with this.
I want to encourage anyone in the area to come, whether you are new to Drupal or an experienced Drupalista :) We are also exploring other means of communication, email list, IRC, iChat or Skype, so join the group!
