Once again php[architect] is hosting php[world] in the D.C. area this fall (in Tyson's Corner). This conference takes place November 14-18th and focuses on bringing various PHP communities, such as Drupal, WordPress, Symfony, and Laravel together to spend a week learning from each other!

I am a Technical Architect working at Acquia, who has attained the Drupal Grand Master certification. I have assembled and taught a thorough curriculum which teaches all that you need to become a Drupal 7 developer, regardless of your background. A colleague from Acquia and former graduate of the class, Malik Kotob, and myself will both be available as teachers in the upcoming semester. The course is offered by Debug Academy and is held in the greater Washington D.C. area.

Chaz Chumley, Drupal Evangelist at Forum One, is bringing us Drupal 8 theming! This is one of the most commonly asked for presentations and we got the guy who wrote the book. Literally!

The presentation will cover:
· Working and understanding content and content types
· How to utilize custom blocks
· Dissecting a theme
· Creating custom themes and templates, using Twig with Views to display content
· Best practices for Drupal 8 theming

Oscar Merida will be doing a presentation on integration/UI testing with Behat.

Oscar Merida is the Editor-in-chief of php[architect] magazine. He's worked with Drupal since version 4.7 for various non-profits, D.C. United, and government agencies.
