Hey, Drupallers:
Are you looking for ways to contribute something back to Drupal? Want to learn new and exciting things about the infrastructure --both in technology and in people-- that keeps this awesome Drupal machine humming?
Join us on 12th June for a Patch Review Mini-Workshop! Experienced Drupal contributors will be on-hand all day long to show you the ropes and get you running on a task that's crucial to maintaining Drupal's momentum.

The Answers module and its related modules seem like they could be useful. They're not as fancy as stackexchange or shapado, but they're Drupal and could be quite useful.
Read moreHas anybody experimented with shapado?
In working on a support option for drupalcommerce.org, I just discovered Shapado, a FOSS stackexchange clone. I'm going to experiment with it. It's not Drupal, but do we have to use Drupal, or can we just use something that works well?
As we've already noted, drupal.stackexchange.com works fantastically, but of course we have limited control of the site, no way to integrate standard external (to stackexchange) resources into it, and no control of the future of the content.

One of the initial release objectives is to have some sort of point tracking. StackExchange's reputation system is explained here.
Questions
- Maximum point value?
- Track points by category (code, site-building, etc...)?
- Anything else?
Support Infrastructure sprint this weekend
We are organizing a sprint for this weekend to try and get this project moving along. It will probably only be a for a few hours, as we are still fleshing out requirements and such. Anyone willing to help is welcome.
Please use this Doodle link to mark time slots when you are available. You can adjust for time zone at the top.

Also, I'm sure there will be more sprints in the future, so don't fret if you can't participate in this one.

The http://groups.drupal.org/support-infrastructure group was created to focus discussion and, hopefully, development. There's been a lot of ad hoc discussion so far, in various places. We want to focus that energy.
So far, davidhernandez has started a wiki page at http://groups.drupal.org/node/133494 outlining some fundamental goals — namely to replace the forums as a support center with something much more effective and useful. (It's a wiki! Be bold!)

We will need to let users tag all questions they ask, so we will need to come up with a good starting list. Good synonyms, and terms that make sense to newbies.

About the Drupal Support Team
The Drupal Support Team was created at DrupalCon Chicago 2011 to help improve the support experience for support-givers and those seeking help.
This group is NOT for seeking Drupal support, or asking questions about how to make Drupal work.
Current objectives include:
- Creation of a new question-and-answer support venue on Drupal.org
- The eventual deprecation of forum and mailing list as support venues so that there is a single destination for all support.
- Simplifying the act of providing support, so more people can easily provide support.
- Providing a clear path from newbie to intermediate Drupaller, to active community members and beyond.
