// Steve

ps.
Det är en wordpressblogg för att bloggen fanns innan webbplatsen.

Integration Engine on Drupal [DConnekt]

I'm Arunoda Susiripala from Srilanka.

I did google summer of code last year on Joomla! [0]

Project Proposal [ DConnekt ]

I want to purpose here is a integration engine which allows to integrate different application with Joomla! in a abstract way.
As an example if we successfully implemented this with Drupal ; we can bridge other application like Elgg, Wordpress without coding inside Drupal.

I've implemented Joomla version for this last GSOC and now it can be available here (called JConnekt) . [1]

WPML Multilingual CMS in Wordpress

I think we should learn something from WPML Multilingual CMS plugin for wordpress. Yesterday I made site that was too simple for Drupal in Wordpress and at the last moment client asked for multi language support. My hands went cold. Used WPML and was surprised how easy, fast and simple process was comparing to Drupal - most importantly because of KISS aproach to many parts of plugin and how it works.

Multisite Drupal vs. standalone Drupal vs. Wordpress for associated setup

We are looking into creating a secondary site that would be segregated from our principle newspaper website so that we can allow community users to create their own blogs and add comments.

The idea is that in doing so, we can better protect the newspaper's brand.

The question is though, should we do this as a Drupal multi-site configuration, as a standalone Drupal install or, for simplicity, use Wordpress instead?

The Wordpress option is based on the assumption that users are only going to be blogging, but there is a remote possibility that these functions could be extended.

Migrating from Wordpress?

Do you plan on including turn-key solutions for migrating from specific CMSes, e.g. Wordpress? Please see a discussion I've started elsewhere about how to handle improvements I've made to a related module that currently is not already on d.o. Ultimately I'd like to merge wp2drupal into a more general app but if Migrate isn't intended to be like that then there's no point. Thanks.

Wordpress migration

I've been updating the wp2drupal module and wanted to make the changes available to the greater audience via d.o. But my changes mark at least the fourth developer who's worked on it - it was originally created by Borek Bernard, then updated by someone by the name of teodorani (who used to own teodorani.com but which is no longer working), and then partially upgraded to D6 by DenRaf.

Drupal.com Usage and Availability

Until recently, I hadn't noticed how similar Drupal is to Wordpress. Aside from being a PHP/MySQL application, Wordpress and Drupal share similar paths to theme and extend the application. While it seems that Wordpress is a much more mature product, Drupal ultimately seems to be more extensible from the non-developers perspective.

Introduction: Subir Ghosh

Hi, I am Subir Ghosh. I run Newswatch (www.newswatch.in). I am essentially a journalist, but I create my own sites too. Newswatch is based on WordPress. It was made with NucleusCMS earlier. And then I had to migrate to WordPress because of its robust category structure and of course perfect search results. I have a created a few other magazine sites for a few friends.. all using WordPress. It was a toss-up between WordPress and Drupal and I settled for the former. Primarily because of its more design flexibility, pagination possibilities, etc.
