Hjälp med att sätta upp server - php-inställningar

Hej!

Drupal requires you to enable the PHP extensions in the following list (see the system requirements page for more information):

Self-hosting Questions: vhosts, power outages, RAID backups

I’m pretty new to the world of hosting one’s own site, so have few newbie Qs.

1) I’ve been trying to setup a vhost for our new site so I can keep the existing dev site separate. I’ve created an A record with our DNS host for our new domain, and then followed the instructions here (http://drupal.org/node/111238) to set up a vhost on our Ubuntu server, when I got this error message:

Syntax error on line 2 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/amherstmedia.org:
Invalid command '\xc2\xa0\xc2\xa0\xc2\xa0', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Drupal web hosting recommendations

Hi,

I'm looking for commercial hosting options for a Drupal site, and would appreciate some guidance on how much server power I might need. My experience so far is in developing relatively low-traffic sites. I'm also not an expert by any means in Linux server admin.

re: site hosting

Hi,

I am currently hosting my new site with lunarpages. The company and the server my site is hosted on are based in California. It seems to be running fairly slowly. Does anyone know that if I hosted it on a UK server it would run quicker, and if so can anyone recommend a hosting company.

thks,
nolan.

Multiple Drupal sites same server. How beefy?

We've got an issue with one of our servers that hosts multiple drupal sites. It was running just fine, and now there's a problem. We're looking to see if there are any other issues causing the server slow down. We're also reassessing our server requirements and so what kind of machine would we need - how many sites can you run serving what n number of requests? I know there's a bunch of variables, how many modules etc... but i'll try and be as specific as possible.

Can't add content to panels (content popups disappear when + sign button is clicked)

I recently moved to a new server and now I can't add or edit content within panels. The modal popup windows have stopped functioning.

Here's what happens:

  1. I go to the content tab of a panel and click a Plus sign button to add some content to a panel.
  2. The popular appears, empty for about 2 seconds.
  3. It disappears.

None of the form info that's supposed to show up in there shows up in there.

What could be causing this and how do I fix it? Thanks.

Server spec and contract attached, please help review

HostMySite has finally sent me the contract with server specs attached, they are in this post attached bellow. Sever specs look very generous and i advise everyone to look at the document page 2 just to see what it is.

If you guys deem this contract reasonable, i will sign it and will use the hardware for various projects that will benefit not only NYC DUG but the community as a whole. I ask you guys to give me a chance to do something positive for the community. please review this document.

A guided tour through the hostmaster installation wizard

I just spent some time documenting the new installation wizard for Aegir, and annotating it on this hostmaster wizard photoset on flickr.

REST Server

A REST Server is now available for the Services module, so that external REST clients can communicate with Drupal Services. In order to use the REST Server, you have to install the Zend Framework.

simple REST server?

I've got a project where I am integrating Drupal with a third party service (a video upload/transcode/hosting provider, kind of a white-label YouTube: twistage.com)... when something updates at that service they want to ping my server @ a URL I designate with some simple key/value pairs, and I want to act on that ping.

Services seems like a perfect fit, except: a) XMLRPC and AMFPHP seem to be the only servers pre-written; and b) I haven't grokked the server part of the services equation to author what seems like a super-simple server - one that only responds to $_REQUEST variables.
