Seems to me if it's going to happen, it will need a concerted effort from UK-based Drupal developers and businesses. Be curious to see if anything's going on/anyone is giving this any thought. The publicity would be great for all of us! :-)

We're excited to announce that the next Drupal Drop In session will be held at the Imagination Group's European headquarters, a jaw droppingly beautiful office space in the centre of London.
As well as a great space, wireless connection and projector, Imagination will also generously be providing drinks and nibbles for the evening.
So if you're interested in finding out why everyone from I.B.M. to Greenpeace is using Drupal, please register on upcoming.org to attend.
