Overview
Many publishers and media companies have shifted their Websites to Drupal. This DrupalCampNYC8 session explores why this is the case by examining current and future trends. We will present several case studies and host an open discussion about workflow tools, popular contributed modules, mobile publishing, and techniques for monetizing content, all of which are helping publishers rethink their businesses. From workflow management, multiplatform publishing, and subscription payments, to video integration, social media integration, and user generated content, this session will focus on how publishers and media companies are using Drupal to invite wider audience participation and ultimately improving their bottom line.

6.x-4.0-BETA1 Has now been released. I am releasing this as beta as there have been major changes and additions and I think its stable enough for a beta. We still need help testing this before its implemented in a production environment. This is a rewrite of the 6.x-3.x branch. The major improvements are listed below:

* FTP Video Attach. (Ability to FTP all your videos at once and then attach the videos through a drop-down)
* FLVTool2 integration.

Hi everyone. Nathan has so graciously converted and uploaded the video he shot at the Getting Started with Drupal, Part 2 meetup on April 15th. The Open Media Foundation's last deliverable for the Open Media Project Knight Foundation grant is a shared content solution for the OMP partners. Our proposed solution differs from existing solutions in that we want to enable automated or user-driven content-sharing, as opposed to the admin-focused solutions that exist with PEGMedia or the ACM/Telvue solution... For example, we want a community member in San Fran, searching for "Cambodian Comedy" videos to see the matching files in SF, and also see a lower-tier of search results from other OMP partner sites.

I'd like to begin this group by opening up to the Drupal community and ask for your opinions on what direction we should head and in what areas we need to focus on.

As mentioned in the mission statement, I want the DVS Group to be able to work with current modules and their maintainers so that we can accomplish this using the contributions that already exist! I actually would like to see any developers out their that are willing to lend a hand on this joining in on this conversation.

Hi all,

I am building a user-generated video sharing site for my client. He wants users with appropriate role can submit their videos to the site and share it. A problem is, for some reasons unknown to me, he wants to use FTP instead of FileField upload functionality to submit a video. Then he wants to get these files hosted by a CDN provider and embed in a node a video file which is retrieved from a CDN provider. A video can last 1 hour or longer sometimes.

One of the best sites that uses Blue Droplet Video and Storage API is SharkScopers.

I wrote up a showcase detailing how I helped SharkScope put it together.
