Need advice on upgrade options

Hi!
We need to upgrade from Drupal 5 (launched in 2009) and since we have never done this before I would appreciate any advice or guidance on what I believe our options are.
Option 1) Just do a straight across the board upgrade.
Option 2) Do an upgrade and make enhancements that we have identified as an organization and include our enhancements in the RFP.
Option 3) Hire a developer to do a 2-3 week intense modernization of website proposal. Cost is a concern with this option.

Community distribution using media

Hi,
what is missing yet from drupal is a media distribution using community features e.g. organic groups,video/image gallerys etc.

Who can help me with Intro website

I need support for the completion of an Intro website.
If you're interested I will send a link , this website is currently off-line.

Our I can create An admin account.
After we agreed , I send you ftp details to get access to the server.

After this intro site is finished, I can inform my network that we develop a new community platform we start in 2013.

Partnership long term: Because this project is for a long term ,is an opportunity to join our staff ,that depends on the conditions that we agree.

Bet regards,

Matthew Vaessen

Is it possible to build a high-traffic Drupal community website without hacking?

I would like to find out from anyone that has built a high traffic Drupal community website ( a website with at least 500,000 visitors a month, with anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 authenticated users at any one time ), is it is possible to create this kind of site without having to do a high level of hacking to make Drupal scale? Can standard Drupal scale without a lot of query and other types of hacking / coding handle this traffic and user levels?

DrupalCon 2012 - What would you like to know?

Out of the past 15 DrupalCon's that have been held, I have had the opportunity to attend exactly one of them. Whether it's time, or budget, or some other reason, sometimes it's just difficult or inconvenient to make it. I can't help but feel like I'm not the only person in that position.

Make update.module more social

Module (and theme) list in vanilla Drupal installation (admin/modules and admin/appearance) lack communication between module maintainers and users (site developers/admins).
I would like to build a module that will enrich module list with links to appropriate issue queues, options to submit new issue (with optional list of enabled modules attached to help problem resolution), documentation etc.
From maintainers perspective, it will be nice to have feedback tools - i.e. ask module users if they want specific feature, or what technical solution they prefer if there is a dilemma, and so on.
