Drupal Intro Seminar?
I'm looking for an intro seminar. I use a Drupal site designed by a friend, and I would love to start skill building. If anyone can suggest a good intro, or if there's anyone out there who wants to trade lunch for an hour of Drupal-ness or barter acting coaching for Drupal lessons that would be rad. You can email me directly mbean@bizstudio.ca
Thanks!

I'd like to plan a workshop / code sprint within the next month in Los Angeles. I have a couple ideas on what we could tackle as a group, but am open to suggestions.
I'd like to accomplish two things in this session
1. Help mentor new developers teaching Drupal best practices and guidance in establishing/enhancing a good Drupal / LAMP development environments.
2. Create a new module from scratch - OR - fix a contrib module.

Thank you, Nikolai, for setting up this group.
My name is Jason Erdahl and I'm Director of Technology at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Like Andy, my paper is a part of the McClatchy Newspaper chain as well.
We recently rolled out our first Drupal site, buzz.mn, a community site for neighborhoods/cities in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
Given that YourHub.com has built a nice business out of reverse publishing (or "multi-purpose publishing", as we call it here) its online products to print, we're very interested in the discussions here on using Drupal to drive content to our print system, DTI. We've had some success in driving content from vita.mn to its companion print product, but it's not pretty. :-)

Hi,
My name is Nikolai Thyssen, I work at a danish newspaper, Dagbladet Information. We're one of the five national newspaper in Denmark - the smaller (and brighter!) of them. We were founded during WWII as an illegal paper and became a daily om May 5th 1945 - liberation day.
I set up this group to bring together people and experiences. The idea and the hope is that this could become a place for newspaper running on (or planning to run on) Drupal to share ideas, problems and solutions. And who knows were it might go?
When you join the group, it would be great if you introduced yourself and the project you work on. And please spread word so we can gather as much experience and innovation as possible.
About myself: I have a masters in comparative literature of all things, I'm the editor for our media section and have for last nine months been leading our online team as well. Our lead developer Johannes Wehner have also joined the group as well as our interaction designer, Jens Christroffersen. We're now moving our news site (information.dk) to Drupal. As a test case we recently moved our blogs (luftskibet.information.dk) to Drupal and are now building an event calendar as a last test before the big move.
All the best.
Nikolai

My name is Michael Haggerty and I am the managing partner of Trellon. Just moved back to DC after a couple years in Vegas and boy is my arm tired (those slot machines can wear you out).
Going to be out here full time for the rest of the year and looking forward to getting down with the Drupal crowd. The IT community in Vegas pretty much does 2 things, network security and slot machine game design (bet you did not know the average video slot machine code is constructed in Fortran and / or C and compiles with only 16-bit graphics). Talking about social networking, open source, CMS, etc. is likely to get you a listing in the Griffin book, which is a casino blacklist generally reserved for cheats.
