New client OLD platform :-(

Hi all,

I've just picked up a new client who's presently stuck with using x-cart as their E-commerce solution. I have them mostly persuaded that staged migration to Drupal 7 would be more economical and fit with their long term mobile strategy.

What I need now is a few Demo examples of Ubercart and/or Ecommerce that I can let them play with. Plus if anyone has any experience with x-cart migration and/or use of the Data module for external database connection I would be more than willing to pay for beers / coffee while I pick your brain.

Dug.to

Congratulations to the team on a great DrupalCamp. Best one I've been to.

A suggestion: might it make sense to have dug.to redirect to http://groups.drupal.org/toronto as a shorthand?

Thanks, Jim

Looking for A Drupal Developer with Experience in Configuring Multilingual Druapl Installs

Hi i am currently working on a project where the requirements are to create a website that is internationalized and is Multilingual.

We have done the basic groundwork but have run-in into few issues, for example:

  • We have menu items with same name in few places in the menu, going through the translate interface or export / import gives them in context, so to translate it we would have to do it in three places. when we tried to upload the po file without context it affected the breadcrumb, but not the menu...

jPlayer in D6

Hi everyone who uses audio players in their sites,

I support a D 6.26 site and have been trying to get jPlayer to work on it. The player appears with the playlist of mp3s, but it will not play. The reason to use it is for iphone, ipod, ipads which will not play flash, and it will replace the javascript player with a flash player if the browser won't support the javascript player.

Canada-Based VPS Recommendations

I was wondering if any Canadian Drupalers had any recommendations to share regarding solid Canadian-owned VPS providers with data centres located in Canada.

I'm looking for:

  • unmanaged plans
  • Xen-based virtualization (preferably)
  • security and reliability (cost is not a primary consideration)

Most of us like Linode and other US-based providers, but I'm specifically inquiring about Canadian-owned/located providers. Thanks!

    Using Drupal Book Recommendation

    Hi all,

At the last meeting a few people suggested the Using Drupal book as a decent resource. Great book.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a book that goes beyond what is covered in this book like module/theme development?

I was hoping the authors had a follow-on book like that but nothing I could find.
