About Me

Chris Shattuck is an experienced trainer, speaker and Drupal developer. He has recorded over 1000 focused Drupal video tutorials on BuildAModule, has developed and designed numerous Drupal sites, and has contributed several interesting, somewhat obscure modules like Navigate and Evernote.

Build a Module.com, which Chris is working on full time now, provides video-based training for all levels of Drupal experience, from those just learning about Drupal to hard-core developers digging deep into Drupal's APIs. The videos are being used by both major institutions around the world as well as independent developers and site builders. In 2011, the first ever Drupal video-based mentored training took place at BADCamp, and the results will likely change the face of Drupal training and learning from this point forward (read here for more info).

For those of you somewhere on the Drupal learning curve, take a look at over 100 free videos on Build a Module.com and see if it can help you accelerate your learning process.

Organization Profile

Build a Module.com is an extensive and ever-growing library of video tutorials for Drupal. It covers a broad range of topics aimed at both "site builders" (no coding) and developers. There are over 500 videos in the library, adding up to more than 44 hours of material.

And the videos are good (read happy feedback from hundreds of viewers here). They're clear enough that viewers get concepts quickly and enjoy the experience, they're concise enough that watching a single video is always a reasonable commitment, and they're organized well enough so that even after a viewer has watched through the entire library, they can easily use it for reference and review.

The videos are being used by major educational instituations, web development shops, and training companies. Freelancers and those preparing for the leap into a Drupal-based occupation are using them to get up to speed, and after the videos they're actually landing jobs (see this video review for an example).

Some of the perks at Build a Module.com:

The Build a Module.com site provides a rich interface for working through the videos. It tracks completed videos, allows you to generate playlists, and puts the entire library on a single page so it's easy to navigate through the library. And it's improving all the time with suggestions from viewers.
