Something is seriously weird with my email notifications from g.d.o. A few weeks ago I changed my email address on my d.o. profile, and now I'm getting notifications randomly sent to the old AND new address!
For years I had my the email address in my d.o. account set not to my primary email, but to a secondary gmail account because of the huge volume of issue queues I was following. But now that I'm a group organizer, this wasn't working because I didn't check the 2ndary account often, and I was missing group news. Finding that there isn't a separate email address setting for g.d.o., several weeks ago I changed my d.o. email address on my account page to my primary email.
Since this change I am indeed getting many posts from g.d.o. coming to the new email, my primary one. However, I'm also still getting a lot of posts from g.d.o. going to the old gmail account! I can't see any pattern to this. Some posts from my Western Montana group go to the old email, some to the new. On 7 November alone I got emails of posts from the same thread in Consulting and Business - one to the new email, a different, separate post to the old email address.
It seems as if my old email address has been cached in some machine or system on g.d.o. Do you have a load-balanced outgoing email system which round-robins outgoing emails across multiple machines or smtp servers or something? Possible that one of them is holding on to my old email address?
Would love it if someone could shine some light here, as having my mail from d.o. and g.d.o. randomly distributed to separate email accounts is not ideal.
