Simple ways that YOU can help Google Code-In!

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.
You are viewing a wiki page. You are welcome to join the group and then edit it. Be bold!

This is a wiki page to highlight ways that folks can contribute to GCI. Please update with any ones I missed.

  • Do you frequent an educational institution, after-school programme, youth center, or other place where 13-18 year olds hang out? Get the word out about Google Code-In!
  • Hang out on IRC in #drupal-gci. Students occasionally show up with general community or development questions, and we want them to get a friendly, fast response.
  • Are you a contributor with a to-do list a mile long? Would some of those things be really cool learning opportunities for someone new? Propose your tasks ideas to http://drupal.org/project/issues/gci.
  • The corollary to that is we also need people to review proposed tasks. Make sure it conforms to the task template, make sure it has a mentor assigned, and then mark it either "reviewed & tested by the community" or "needs work" as appropriate.
  • Monitor Melange, to see if there are tasks that need verification or review. Go to http://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/list_org_tasks/google/gci2010/drupal to see all the Drupal tasks.
  • Find GCI tasks that need review! Look at http://drupal.org/project/issues/search?status[]=8&issue_tags=gci-task for a list of tasks that need review.
