Bitcoin is a new digital currency which provides a lot of benefits over other currency forms but also has its limitations. This group is devoted to discussing modules and other functionality that supports the use of Drupal with Bitcoin. There is a good thread about Drupal & Bitcoin at the Bitcoin forums..
Current Drupal & Blockchain Projects:
Bitcoin for Ubercart/Drupal: http://bit.ly/eaKyjH
Drupal CCK Field for Bitcoin Addresses: http://drupal.org/project/bitcoin_address
Take a simple question from here: What could the Blockchain mean for a CMS like Drupal?
Dries Buytaert creator of Drupal raised a simple, yet extensive question on twitter (‘@Dries’):
“What could the Blockchain mean for a CMS like Drupal? #brainstorm”
Let us brainstorm indeed.
As a Drupal - and blockchain insider, I analysed this question step by step. And came to a surprising conclusion: it is much more interesting for Drupal to change the question.

SatoshiPay.io just closed on a €360K seed round. SatoshiPay.io aims to enable small (penny-level) payments for content.
They have a working demo on their site which is simple enough. You set up a small web wallet, then fund it with a few satoshis. When you reach a content protected page, you can unlock content with a click and your web wallet is debited.

Bitcoin offers the potential for revenue streams outside the traditional advertising models.
Longer term I can see 21.co having the "heft" to setup a bitcoin-based paid content model with associated services. However, in the here and now there's a quick-and-dirty tool which will ask those with AdBlock to donate to your site with bitcoins.

Crypto-based user points (rewards)
One thing I'm interested in is integrating crypto tokens into a Drupal "user rewards" system. If you're familiar with the site/podcast "Let's Talk Bitcoin" they've developed their own user rewards token called LTBCoin. At the moment, I think it's based on CounterParty.
LTB seems to have open-sourced their CMS code which is PHP-based.

Hi everyone,
I actually host one of the most active groups for Bitcoin in NYC and being a Drupal developer myself I'd like to setup a playnight or hackathon to support these 2 awesome communities. If anyone is interested, please post below and we'll go from there.
Here's some pics of previous events I've hosted and organized: http://www.meetup.com/xtech-meetup-nyc-drupal-bitcoin-robotics-arduino-w...

Reward for development of commerce related module.
I would like a module developed and released open source but I am willing to reward the developer who makes this happen with 1.5BTC, roughly $150 dollars.
It's a pretty simple request, I want a module for Coins Wallet integrated with Commerce. I want it so when they are asked to pay for their wallet they can use the funds in their wallet. I'm experienced in other languages, I don't think it would take more than an hour to complete for an experienced drupal developer. Yet it isn't only easy money, but drupal gets a feature which has been customary in other Bitcoin checkouts.

Hi all! I am at DrupalCon now, and I just found out there is a Bitcoin BoF taking place. I'm sorry I won't be able to join, but there is another session that I was eager to attend at the same time.
I wanted to ping you guys to let you know about a module I created recently which may be very useful to the Bitcoin community. It is called Fraction (http://drupal.org/project/fraction), and it is a Field API that allows for a very fine-precision storage of decimal values (ie: 0.00000001 aka a satoshi).

Thanks to the leadership of Allie Micka and R.J. Steinert, the Snowball initiative to provide tools for coordinating and funding Drupal initiatives is coming to the Boston area this long weekend for its first code sprint.

We'll be working on Friday November 11th, Saturday the 12th, and Sunday the 13th starting at 10am on Friday and no later than that on the weekend days in Somerville, Massachusetts.
If you can dive into helping build this, contact rjstatic or contact mlncn for directions to the venue.

I'm so glad to see that people are interested in using Drupal with Bitcoin. I've already created two sites using Drupal for Bitcoin related stuff: https://bitcoinbonus.com and http://bitcoinbasics.com.
I wanted to open up a conversation about the best way to bring Bitcoin to the Drupal community and lay out a roadmap for various development efforts in the hopes of reducing duplicated effort and enhancing the time that more people can start using Bitcoin with Drupal.
I'm aware of three modules --
