Great Training at DrupalCon London
In Chicago there were 16 tracks for training: http://chicago2011.drupal.org/training The Team for DrupalCon London are still waiting to determine how many they will offer.
In the past, training in the EU conferences hasn't been as robust. However training is an ideal way for new Drupal users to improve their experience with DrupalCon. They can get prepared with some of the essential guidance they need to understand Drupal and get the most out of their experience. With the right selection of courses, and strong promotion we hope to have well-attended and great training available for DrupalCon London.

How are training courses selected?
I wondered this too, so I asked. Then, they got me to volunteer! The courses are chosen on projected popularity; and the reputation or experience of those offering the courses. I'm keen to make this a more transparent process. The courses are finally selected by a team working with Jacob Redding who draws on his previous experience overseeing the Drupal Association and several DrupalCons. Jacob works with whomever is on the training team. Do you want to join the training coordination team? You can help out quite a bit remotely!
Tasks for Training Team Members:
- Assist in selection of training courses
- Pre-sales care & response to prospective attendees
- Communication with training providers about sales, giving updates
- Promoting and marketing training in local markets and online
- Coordinating before conference to instructors, preparation
