BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants.
BarCamp Little Rock is a combination party and educational event. Get together with fellow technologists and talk about whatever floats your boat--open source software, design, networking, systems administration, GIS, programming, or hardware, or anything awesome.
The deal is that if you'd like to come, try to either:
a) come up with a really informal 20-minute presentation about something that interests you, or
b) get into discussions and ask a lot of questions.
This is, at its heart, a really chill technology conference, and we'd like to have some of the knowledge you have in your head. So don't stress about presenting or contributing, but do try to do it.
oh, and if you're signing up here, make sure to hit http://BarCamp.org/BarCampLittleRock which is where the OFFICIAL signing-up will take place. The password to edit is c4mp. Click on 'Edit Page' and add yourself to the list of participants/volunteers.
It's October 11, 11a-7p, at the Flying Saucer in Little Rock, AR. We're starting at 11 so out-of-towners won't have to drive down the night before.
If it sounds like your kind of thing, invite some friends! Make it a road trip--you'll get a free t-shirt out of the deal, too.
