We held our Broward Drupal monthly meetup on Wednesday, June 8th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Participants:

Remote (from furthest to closest):
Seattle - Chris Parsons @chillin411
Boca Raton - Mark Stahlbaum @markeytoe
Coral Springs - Jason Graham @polishyourimage

In Person (Fort Lauderdale, Broward County Florida):
Claudio Vera @modulist
Jay Epstein @jeppy64
Luis Salazar @LuisPixelhead
Norman Flech @Straightalk
Me @hectoriribarne

We continued to have remote users participate in our meetup via Skype and TeamViewer.

Jay Epstein (@jeppy64 http://jay-epstein.com/) talked about using Drupal Gardens to quickly create one of his new sites: http://Bling-Designs.com : Drupal Gardens D7 software as a service platform. To include Ecommerce into the site, Jay used embedded JavaScript from Cashie into a content type.

Chris Parsons (@chillin411 http://kickball.com) takled about Features. Chris recommended using Strongarm with Features, and Debut projects for examples. He used an example of a rotating billboard feature. Chris showed us how to use Drush to update and revert features. He also discussed an novel approach to dev-staging-prod (you will have to listen to the audio below for details).

In addition to the main topics discussed above, we spent the rest of the meetup answering questions from our new members Claudio Vera, Luis Salazar and Norman Flech. We had three remote participants via Skype and five in the meeting room. That is our biggest meetup since we started in April 2010. Let's see if we can keep the momentum going.
