What is Open Calais: OpenCalais initiative is supported by Thomson Reuters which originated to supports the interoperability of content. The free OpenCalais service and open API makes it easy to automate content operations, enhance content, increase audience engagement and extend distribution across the CMS or framework.
The Calais Web Service automatically creates rich semantic metadata for the content you submit – in well under a second. Using natural language processing, machine learning and other methods, Calais analyzes your document and finds the entities within it. But, Calais goes well beyond classic entity identification and returns the facts and events hidden within your text as well )
What is Apache Solr: Apache Solr provides great search capabilites including faceted search which combines the best of traditional search and browsing.
Speaker: Andre Angelantoni , Drupal expert will be presenting his experience customizing Apache Solr with Drupal. His recent experience with France Telecom will be the case study and his presentation will explain the value of Apache Solr.
He will break the session in casestudy and technical details of implementing it on Drupal 7 (he'll also make code for Drupal 6 available).
