Today sees the launch of the new http://bad-ass.org.uk site, with tickets now available for our Drupal Discovery Day in Brighton on 16th September, part of the Brighton Digital Festival. Please go and book your tickets now before we run out of places - also helps to show support in the attendee list so others can see there's a few people coming along!
I built the site in a few days using the Conference Organising Distribution. We originally had talked about charging a small cover for the afternoon event, however in the end I decided not to, because:
a) I want to encourage people to come to the event - speaking to others re events like barcamp we can over-subscribe if we get > 50 to each event - let's cross that bridge if and when we come to it!
b) The morning event is free (has to be as is a free Acquia training event even though yours truly will be helping out too!)
c) We don't have time or resources to set up proper bank accounts etc. and I don't really want to take money at this point in time
d) We already have enough sponsorship to cover costs
e) I was up till 3am trying to get ubercart to work but it's simple broken at the moment :( See: http://drupal.org/node/1192018
Sponsors: I will need to know what you want me to put on the site, how much you're going to sponsor, etc.!
