This group is for everyone living in the Gainesville area who's interested in Drupal. You can post here about anything relating to Gainesville and Drupal, whether that's events, local job postings, or just a call out to talk shop over beers. To receive alerts about these events, join the group.
Meetups focus on connecting people. The target audience is Drupal developers, users, and people who want to learn more about Drupal. We start the meetups with a round of very focused lightening talks that discuss real world solutions to existing problems and Drupal news. These presentations don’t discuss code – anyone with a technical background can understand them.

Florida DrupalCamp 2011 Wrapup
Wow. What a weekend. Florida DrupalCamp 2011 is in the books and by all accounts it was a huge success. With almost 250 attendees and 6 tracks of sessions, this was the largest Drupal event ever held in the state of Florida. Attendees traveled from all corners of Florida, as well as a growing number from out-of-state (Illinois, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, to name a few) to participate.

Florida DrupalCamp 2011 Web Site and Registration Now Open!
Registration for Florida DrupalCamp 2011 (February 12-13) is now open at FLDrupalCamp.org!
We're pleased to announced that the Florida DrupalCamp 2011 web site is now up-and-running and is the main source of information about the camp, including location (Rollins College in Winter Park), sessions, and attendees. We've added a user forum to help attendees arrange carpools from various parts of the state, and are working on finalizing the session program.

Gainesville Meetup in January December Wrapup
Thanks to everyone who made it to the drupal meetup last Thursday. Ben gave us a great presentation on Ubercart module. He has posted the slides on the groups.drupal.org website in the Gainesville group http://groups.drupal.org/node/113054 . If you haven’t done so already you should join the gainesville group(http://groups.drupal.org/gainesville) and the florida group (http://groups.drupal.org/florida) to get local information about events.
We tried out different video and desktop sharing products and will continue testing them for future meetings.

Gainesville Meetup Wrap Up
The gainesville drupal group met Thursday at the Alachua County Library for our 2 hour meetup. We had 7 people in attendance. Mike H. gave us his presentation of the 960 grid system and sub themes. He showed us how to manipulate the screen to use the grid system to display div blocks spanning multiple widths and heights. He also showed us how to change the layout from a 960 pixel grid to 1200 pixel grid and also to modify the blocks from 12 blocks to 16 blocks depending on your design. Next he showed us how to apply classes from the stylesheet with the grid layout.

I've seen a module that gives an edit link each block or view which will take you directly to the view but I can't seem to find that module. I've tried 'block edit' but that isn't the one I am looking for. Any suggestions?

Florida DrupalCamp 2011 Call For Sponsors
Florida DrupalCamp 2011 will be held February 12-13 in Winter Park, Florida on the campus of Rollins College. Sponsorship opportunities are now available to interested parties.
The first day of the camp will be a 4-track learning experience and the 2nd day will feature a site building sprint where we build a complete Drupal site for a Florida non-profit organization. At last year's camp we sold out several weeks before the event at 175 people. For 2011, we've found a new venue and will be able to support over 300 participants.
