This group is for everyone living in the Gainesville area who's interested in Drupal. You can post here about anything relating to Gainesville and Drupal, whether that's events, local job postings, or just a call out to talk shop over beers. To receive alerts about these events, join the group.
Meetups focus on connecting people. The target audience is Drupal developers, users, and people who want to learn more about Drupal. We start the meetups with a round of very focused lightening talks that discuss real world solutions to existing problems and Drupal news. These presentations don’t discuss code – anyone with a technical background can understand them.

Below is the draft for the various sponsorship levels for Florida DrupalCamp 2011. If anyone has any comments and/or suggestions, please let me know ASAP. I'd like to begin approaching potential sponsors later this week.
I've incorporated several major changes to the sponsorship opportunities compared to last year's Florida DrupalCamp. They are:
- Addition of a "Diamond" level - limited to a single sponsor for the event.
- Addition of an "Individual" level
- Increased the sponsorship amounts - last year the vast majority of the sponsors were at the $500 level

DrupalCamp Florida 2011 Potential Dates
A few of us have been working at securing a new location for Florida DrupalCamp 2011 - and we've made some good progress.
Before we go much further, we want to double-check the date that we've been working with: February 12-13, 2011. The location will remain in Central Florida.
As far as we can tell, these dates are relatively safe, with the only downside is that this is also the closest weekend to Valentine's Day (the SuperBowl is February 6, the Daytona 500 is February 20, DrupalCon Chicago is March 7-10, there are no other DrupalCamps currently scheduled for this weekend).

Finish What We Started: Coding for a Cause 2010
Waaaaay back in February, we started something that we never completed. Now is the time to do the right thing and finish what we started.
As part of Florida DrupalCamp 2010, we committed to building new sites for two local non-profit organizations: the Greater Orlando Mothers of Twins and Triplets and Junior Achievement of Central Florida. While we made great progress on both sites, but neither site was ever completed. We underestimated the necessary theming effort for both sites.

New Design & Upgrade for GatorTailgating.com (plus free beer)!
I wanted to share this with everyone because some of what went into this was learned directly from February's Drupal camp. We've put a lot of work into this (and went live with it last night 3/30/10), and some of the design elements would not have been possible without Drupal camp. I also really enjoyed some of the case studies, so I decided to do my own.

Represent the Drupal community at BarCamp! It's one week from today!
BarCampOrlando is back and is going to be bigger and better than ever. The Orlando Scene has quickly proven it can put on one of the premier BarCamp events in the US, and quite possibly the world.
BarCampOrlando is a 1 day 'unconference' offering all attendees the opportunity to share their knowledge by giving short talks on ANY subject. This year we will have 3 different rooms to showcase the participants and sessions of different lengths to accommodate more content then you can shake your marshmallow stick at.
BarCamp by it's nature has no schedule, no keynote speaker, and no main topic of conversation - the participants decide the who, what, how, why and when - we just pick the where!
Does it matter that the "Florida" group doesn't fit the g.d.o guidelines?

Gainesville DUG First Meetup -- In the Planning Stages --
Welcome Gainesville Drupallers!
Our first meeting will provide an introduction to Drupal and our group. The purpose of the meeting is to make a grand entrance to the scene of activities for students, professors, and Gainesville residents. If you would like to help organize this event, we'll have to continue using the Florida group until Gainesville is approved (it's been in the queue for over a week).

Hey everyone!
I'm starting a Drupal Users Group at UF. We'll replicate the success of GatorLUG, and also offer more workshops and panel discussions/Q&A. I'd like to have a meeting either the second or third week in this upcoming Spring 09. I'm looking for Drupal enthusiasts and participants who would like to get this group off the ground. We'll need to register the organization at the students' union (I'll take care of this) and get the word out (I'd like to make a flyer that can be posted on the school billboards).
