Hello everyone. I may not make it this week. I should really be setting up some new sites. I am a very old dog constantly learning new tricks ...
So I have installed an IRC client and if I can figure out how to use it before 2pm, I will come to the meeting and observe.
The meeting webchick is
The meeting webchick is talking about here is actually for people who are working on the Drupal.org site itself, which is a pretty small group of people.
If you are looking for help setting up sites, or just want to talk to other Drupal folks, you can check out the IRC channel #drupal or #drupal-support at any time and you are likely to find lively conversation :)
Thanks Lin
The problem I am having is using IRC.
I am writing a quick-start guide to drupal. I thought I would share it. I am not entirely sure what "working on the Drupal.org site itself" really means.
I expect to be hacking drush soon also.
Added:
Lin. I managed to connect to the channel. You were correct. I have no idea why I received the email about signing up for this.
Looking back at the first email, it appears to originate with webchick ...
See You Next Week
I found the drupal docs for IRC but it's too much for this week. For some reason, I can no longer edit my comment so I'm replying to it.
Will a log be posted somewhere ?
Have you tried webchat to access irc?
I have not used myself, but you might try if you can't install an irc client:
webchat.freenode.net/
I'm using Irssi
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm fine with irssi but I just don't have time to set up a nick etc today. I looked at the freenode guidelines and there's too much there to take in until I have some free time in the evening.
Too curious to wait. Managed to connect and watch the meeting.
Several people sent me offers of help by email. Thanks everyone.
Who should attend?
Is this the meeting Christefano told me to join because I am now one of the administrators for the Downtown Los Angeles Drupal group?

I was not sure who should attend either
I originally signed up, as I was curious and had some ideas. I was also participating on ideascale. I signed up and then cancelled because I wasn't sure who it was open to or pertaining to. If there is a better place to present my idea since I did not attend, and anyone would be interested, please let me know.
thanks,
Jen
I will be on this week. I
I will be on this week. I have some concerns regarding Drupal date support for other calendar systems. D8 could be a true multi lingual CMS.
Most of CMSes have RTL languages support, but very few of them (or none?) support for other calendars like Jalali.
It's an interesting topic to chat about.
Edit: I'm not sure I posted this in the right place. saw the office hours post in Drupal Association group.
