Sprints to improve Drupal take place in different parts around the world during this weekend. Drupal Somerset is taking part in the World Drupal Sprint which means two days of Drupal goodness in good old Somerset.
-- What is a Sprint? --
A sprint is a gathering of Drupal users where you work on outstanding Drupal Core issues in order to improve the software.
Everyone is welcome; if you have built a site in Drupal, you are ready to take part and improve the Drupal software. We will split into small groups and work on Drupal core issues. Bring your laptop. If possible, install git before coming and git clone Drupal 8 core. If you're new to Drupal: you can get a head start also by making an account on Drupal.org, taking a look at the Drupal Ladder http://drupalladder.org/ and/or attend one of our twice-monthly meet ups.
-- What is Somerset? --
Somerset is a county in South-West UK, its name is derived from "The Sommer Settlers" because people, in the early days, only used to live and work on the lands during the Summer. The main reason for this was the flooding of the land outside the summer period. -- The Sprint Weekend --
The Sprint will start at 12 o'clock and finish at 6pm on Saturday.
On Sunday we'll start nice and early at 10am and finish at 4pm
Drinks and a light lunch will be provided on both days. There are a few restaurants (one very good Indian) and several pubs in Langport where we can go and re-fuel after the sprints.
