User group meeting

The next Downtown Drupal meetup is on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 and will be at Sensis Agency in Downtown Los Angeles. Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

At this meetup, we're having our usual news and announcements, as well as raffle prizes, featured presentations and lightning talks (which are short, bite-sized presentations).

Introducing Drupal for Evergage: Personalized Content & Data-Driven User Engagement

Karl Wirth of Evergage (@Evergage) presents on personalizing a visitor’s experience to your Drupal site to help drive more leads, convert more sales, and create happy customers — who will return again and again.

Tailoring your content to each person, based on who they are, where they came from, and the actions they have taken on your site in this visit and over time, will help the person feel like the site was built for them, and anticipates their needs and knows their preferences.

Evergage's solution, including its Drupal module, brings the core components of personalized marketing together, making it easy to trigger personalized messages and tailored content to users in real-time based on the user's characteristics and behavior.

We will have a 30-minute presentation and discussion around:

  • How to increase conversions, engagement, adoption, and renewal with behavior-based personalization;
  • How to install the Evergage Drupal module, setup and configure Evergage;
  • Examples in action.

We have time for additional presentations at this meetup. Is there a presentation topic that you're interested in? Post a comment below to either request or offer a presentation, or contact one of the organizers listed above. Thank you!

About Greater Los Angeles Drupal

With several weekly and monthly events, the Greater Los Angeles Area is one the most active areas for Drupal in the world.

Formerly named Downtown Los Angeles Drupal, we've been meeting regularly in and around Downtown Los Angeles, California, since early 2010, and now organize a large number of events in the area. Our signature events include the Drupal Job Fairs and the Downtown Drupal, Frontend Drupal and High Performance Drupal meetups.

Our members and organizers have produced hundreds of Drupal events, including job fairs, meetups and workshops, conferences, paid trainings, coworking days, study group sessions, movie outings, FREE tutoring sessions from Drupal professionals, and website barnraisings to benefit non-profits and members of our community.

Attending Drupal events in the Greater Los Angeles Area is one of the best ways to meet and talk with other Drupaleros and we encourage you to attend as many meetings and special events as you'd like. Whether it's to find solutions to problems you've been having, sharing something you've learned or just meeting interesting like-minded people, the Greater Los Angeles Drupal events are an essential resource for Drupal professionals and hobbyists alike.

Hi all, Here's a message from

Hi all,

Here's a message from James. His account is being flagged by Mollom, so I'm posting it here on his behalf:

Hello everyone, let's try something new for happy hour: http://www.mariasdowntownla.com

Maria's Italian Kitchen is in the first floor of the same building as SENSIS. You can come in the back door (through the lobby and past the elevators), or from the street, on Flower, across from Pegasus and Primo Cafe.

Here's the link to their menu:
http://www.mariasdowntownla.com/dt_inhouse_web.pdf

And they have $3 draft beer.

See y'all there starting at 5:30 pm, then heading up stairs to SENSIS a little before 7 pm.

Thanks,
J.

Kevin's presentation on

christefano's picture

Kevin's presentation on Evergage was excellent and there were many questions from the audience. He's offered to answer additional questions here in the comments. (Thanks, Kevin!)

If anyone would like to see the presentation from this meetup, we have a recording here that can be streamed directly from WebEx:

   URL: https://meetings.webex.com/collabs/files/playRecording?encryptedDocID=0_...
   Short URL: http://ex.tl/Zem

The recording can be downloaded, as well, but it's in Cisco's proprietary WebEx ARF format. If anyone would like to help the group by converting it to MP4 I'd be happy to upload it to our video channel at http://vimeo.com/GLADrupal to help reach a wider audience.
