Somewhat of a "I have a dream" piece just posted on Isovera's blog as we get ready for ALA in Chicago.

"Dear Libraries, Drupal will deliver. Can you?"

You have the power library people! It's within reach. If, at every ALA, PLA, CIL or (insert acroynm here), there is always a session, “The Death of the Library,” or “How Do We Stay Relevant?” or just plain “Oh No! We’re Screwed,” I want to propose a positive spin on what is possible today, while being cost effective. It’s a concept that focuses on the library’s true place in your community as valued-added curators of information and community-based content sharers. The idea recognizes that your library, whether it be public or private, academic or research, holds a unique role in a specific community. This is what really can help separate you from Amazon, Google, or any other array of “generic” resources. Now, how do you leverage your library’s role in the community, through technology, and deliver a mind-blowing experience for your patrons? Let me elaborate...
