You have the power library people! It's within reach. If, at every ALA, PLA, CIL or (insert acroynm here), there is always a session, “The Death of the Library,” or “How Do We Stay Relevant?” or just plain “Oh No! We’re Screwed,” I want to propose a positive spin on what is possible today, while being cost effective. It’s a concept that focuses on the library’s true place in your community as valued-added curators of information and community-based content sharers. The idea recognizes that your library, whether it be public or private, academic or research, holds a unique role in a specific community. This is what really can help separate you from Amazon, Google, or any other array of “generic” resources.
