Description
Drupal Database Management, Drush, & Command Line Scripting with Michael Godeck!

At this month's Drupal Meetup next Wednesday evening, the 28th of October, Michael Godeck will start with a brief introduction on Drush, the command line module manager. He will also take look at how to insert, update and delete nodes directly with PHP scripting, a technique which can be useful in porting sites, populating sites from lists, and other tasks for managing node data. Michael Godeck will show us how to “run herd on those little node doggies.”

Come out to gain an enhanced confidence for working directly with node data, and gain a more intimate familiarity with the naked Drupal node!

After the presentation, we will do an informal "Reverse Open Mike" session where all of you who have some command line experience with database management will answer questions from others in the community! Let Lauren know if you want to participate as an expert. Alternatively, if you would like to to supply our experts with your queries in advance, email lauren@laurennroth.com. Lauren will compile your questions in advance for use in the next meetup!

Speaker Bio - Michael is the principle of ImaginarySight, a consulting outfit transitioning to drupal projects. Back at the turn of the century, Michael built the testing systems for MCI’s Automated-Operator platform, and was for a number of years the technical lead for the fleet maintenance and engineering (M&E) systems for American Airlines' regional carrier, American Eagle. He is currently under contract in a Dilbert comic strip in South Austin.
