Below is what will be provided in the Drupal Web Application Development Workshop in September at the University of Arizona.
Topics covered:
• Review of different types of servers: dedicated vs shared and which to select based on site requirements;
• Install the Drush utility tool and install Drupal using Drush
• Configure an adaptive theme
• Configure user settings, roles, permissions; protect against spambots and spot a spammer
• Add tools to enhance your user’s experience
• Learn how to find, select, upload and maintain contributed modules
• Drupal ‘Entities’
• Using Panels to layout content
• Use User and Entity references to link content
• Incorporate Google mapping
• Add multimedia/video
• Learn views while building site functionally including contextual filters and relationships
• Create a development environment and sync development to the production environment
• Preview Drupal 8
Each workshop participant will receive:
• A web server account on a shared server with Cpanel & shell access [limited to 3 months]
• Ongoing access to a discussion forum for feedback and support
• Ongoing access to tutorials and step-by-step directions
