Drupal groups for Latin America:

General groups: Spanish, Brasil...

For general -non local- Drupal topics, such as using Drupal, modules, translations, technical issues, etc., it's highly recommended to use Spanish, the group of Spanish-speaking Drupal users worldwide, so that everyone can benefit and participate. The Drupal Hispano and Drupal Latino communities are available as well.

For Portuguese-speakers, the general groups -also local in this case- are Brasil and the Drupal Brasil community.

International groups: Latin America, DrupalCon...

The Latin America group is a meeting point for participation and communication on Drupal topics related to Latin America. It's the forum to share regional and local issues that may be of interest or useful to users from more than one Latin American country, such as Drupal news, events, and other activities. It includes a guide to Drupal events in Latin America

An example is community events like DrupalCamps that can be of interest to users and participants from neighboring countries. It's advisable to publish these events in both the organizing local group and the Latin America group, which is a simple way to inform all those interested. This group can also be used for topics on participation as user in the Latin American DrupalCon. On the other hand, to collaborate in the organization of this event, the group is DrupalCon Latin America.

International languages: In these groups, English is a recommended language for international communication, together with Spanish and Portuguese (the two most spoken languages, approx. 2/3 and 1/3 of the population, in Latin America).

Local groups

For very local issues (a city or a country), like group news and activities, small events and informal gatherings (meetups), it's appropriate to communicate in the corresponding local group.
