The next United States Social Forum, http://ussf2010.org/, is going to be held in Detroit in June of 2010. Much of the technology for promoting and organizing the Forum is and will be powered by Drupal.
This Thursday evening a meeting will happen at This meeting happen at the Cass Cafe located at 4620 Cass Ave between W. Forest Ave and Prentis Street in Detroit.
The meeting is to create a local technology working group to help with the following:
-- 3 Drupal websites (a public facing main Drupal site about to implement a new design, a Drupal/Civicrm site for registration and outreach management, a site for social networrking using Organic Groups), and two wikis for internal organizing
--onsite tech needs such as setting up computers for registration and for a media lab, and any other on the ground tech needs.
