The holiday season is approaching fast and so is Drupal 8 (maybe)! We will be having our November meetup on our traditional 3rd Wednesday of the month on November 20th. We will be at our same location at Infosys International (address below)
I'd like to expand on the excellent talk Annemarie gave last month around theme development / planning. Maybe take a design and start chopping it down together to get a better idea on how to take a mockup and make it a Drupal theme. If you have any designs you are curious about bring them down.
In addition, we have a little project we have been working on to make it easy for our community to dive into testing Drupal 8. We developed a site at trydrupal8.com which enables us to quickly spin up our own instances of a fresh copy of Drupal 8. Lots of really cool technology behind this that I would love to share with the group!

Hi Josh,
Welcome to our community! If you are new to Drupal and live on Long Island then you found the right place. We are group of designers and developers on various levels of the Drupal learning curve. We meet every third Wednesday of the month. Each month brings a rich conversation around a given topic. I always find myself leaving with a nugget of new knowledge.
This coming week we will be exploring the Drupal theming layer. From there I am sure we will navigate through various topics surrounding making Drupal look good!
