Co-working...

mikeker's picture

Just a quick note about the co-working location: The library room we reserved for the D8 code sprint a few months ago is not available on an on-going basis. The library is open those hours and has free wifi and is located a two minute walk from the SeaDUG meeting, but it would be up to co-working folks to meet around some of the tables upstairs and not in the meeting room. And, of course, we have to be quiet. Shhhh.... it's a library.

(Technically, we're allowed to reserve the room for two out of every three months so, if there is a ground-swell of interest I can set that up -- something like 0 == month_num % 3 means no co-working... ;)

If folks are interested in more boisterous co-working locations, there are ample coffee shops (Milstead, Fremont Coffee Shop) or the Red Door (though that may be better for the after-meeting "co-working").

Talk about Taxes and COPE meeting last month

As Mike requested in other thread: https://groups.drupal.org/node/357348#comment-987768 I can give a summary of the meeting about the realities of COPE. Deane Barker who was the speaker, works with Karen McGrane (who was a keynote at last Drupalcon) so there was some overlap in what she says. He is not a huge fan of Drupal, although he was also a speaker at Drupalcon. He believes it needs some more attention on the marketing side.

I also may be able to talk about Avalara, which is a tax service that integrates with Drupal Commerce. They are getting a new version released and I should be implementing it for a client soon. Hopefully they will have the new version approved by Commerce Guys in the next day or so and I can get that up and running for a demo.

At the risk of repeating

At the risk of repeating myself, I'd be interested in hearing about jcost's COPE reports...

Thanks for posting this webinar link. Wish it didn't take watching so many videos to figure it out. I don't remember having such an issue with Ubercart, but maybe I have blocked that out of my mind.
