Following on from the findings of our hack day we decided to focus on producing a curriculum with roughly two weeks worth of material, which gives people a solid intro into web development & Drupal. I've also published a 'Drupal Digital Mission' here: http://hedleysmith.com/posts/digital-mission-drupal-blog.html which we can point to as the very first part of the curriculum.
I tested this Digital Mission out at an event last week, with incredibly successful results! Three Drupal 'newbies' were up and running with their own Drupal sites in an hour! They were then installing and enabling new themes and asking for more to do. The self-organising learning style with a focus on quick wins seems to work really well for this introductory part, giving people the 'wow' factor - and inspiring them to continue.
Our next challenge is to complete an outline of this curriculum and produce any materials we need to (we'll be linking to existing tutorials where we can).
