On 9th and 10th June, we’ll have check-in meetings for second week of GSoC coding period. All students must attend any one of these meetings. Following are the two slots:

Today's check-in meeting is scheduled @ 1800 UTC (2330 IST/1300 EDT). Be sure to attend it. Its compulsory for all students and optional for mentors though they are welcome to join if they wish. The agenda of this meeting is to track the progress of all the projects and also to encourage interaction across various project teams.
Today's 1st meeting scheduled @ 0430 UTC didn't happen due to certain reasons so all those who were planning to attend that meeting can either attend the next meeting today or get in touch Slurpee or cs_shadow on IRC (preferable) or via mail.

Our GSoC/GCI BoF at Drupalcon LA is on the schedule for Thursday May 14th 2015 at 14:15-15:15 in room 512.
Anyone interested in participating in GSoC and/or GCI is encourage to attend. If you're new to either program this is a great chance to learn how rewarding both experiences can be from alumni. Please attend if you have participated in either program as a student or mentor to help spread awareness plus share ideas to help everyone involved. This BoF will provide us a chance to meet in person to discuss past, present, and future initiatives to ensure Drupal's success in both programs.

Friendly reminder to students that Google Summer of Code 2015 application proposals are due. Please don't wait until the last minute to submit proposal into Melange. Melange will be slammed with students from all over the world trying to submit at last minute. Plus you should practice submitting into Melange's interface and reviewing submission. There is no problem submitting as many times as needed as long as you meet deadline. Don't forget to continue contributing to issue queues!

I know one of the things I had talked about was putting together a talk for DrupalCamps and meetups that mentors could give about Drupal Summer of Code to get more involvement from the community.
Any thoughts on this one? I don't think Texas is having a DrupalCamp for a while.
