Event type:
Drupalcamp or Regional Summit

The first ever Devsigner Conference is happening here in Portland! Devsigner is a brand new event that will bring together frontend developers and technology-oriented designers and invite them to share their expertise, helping them take frontend development to the next level. We will be using Drupal as an assumed base platform, but since frontend development isn’t tied to a particular backend our audience includes any frontend dev and web-focused designer.

This is an opportunity for us to come together and learn from professionals beyond our spheres and explore new artistic directions for Drupal development, both classical and technical. This event will help creators expand their horizons through workshops and speaker presentations, as well as educate designers who would like to start creating for the web.

At this time, there is still a need for volunteers, sponsors, and session submissions. Want to get involved? Check out the website and get in touch! www.devsignercon.com

When: May 23-25
Where: The Eliot Center - Portland, Oregon
Tickets: $50 ( $60 with after-party admission)

The deadline for session submissions is Friday, April 25, so get your ideas in ASAP!

Just wanted to underscore Marlene here and encourage you to submit session ideas, since if your session is selected you'll get a free ticket! (Plus the combined admiration of designers and developers everywhere.)

We’re looking for sessions like

  • responsive web development for graphic designers
  • color theory for coders
  • industrial design for web apps
  • why bad user experience is a bug
  • what web technologies can learn from analog design
  • iterative design in open-source communities

Sessions can straddle the designer/developer boundary, or they can offer lessons from one background or discipline to another.

For more information about what kinds of sessions we're looking for, view the session submission form -- and be sure to submit your own ideas by April 25!

We've been watching the excellent proposals roll in, and spoken to a few people who were interested in submitting but hadn't been able to do so. We haven't made our final session selections yet, and after some discussion we've decided to extend the session submission deadline in order to bring everyone possible in.

New session submission deadline: THIS Friday, May 2 at 5PM (Portland time)

Submit your session to Devsigner now!

Additionally, we're now able to begin selling tickets to Devsigner, so if you've been waiting, now's your chance to grab a seat!
